Studying in the Southwestern United States is a very different cultural experience. El Paso, Texas is located near the Franklin Mountains. It is home to many historical and art museums and is steeped in the rich culture of Mexican and American history. Las Cruces, New Mexico is a city that features a marriage of traditional village life and developing city amenities. Both cities that call CCC campuses home have distinct cultural blends, ethnic food and shopping experiences, and plenty of skilled Spanish speakers. The climate at CCC\'s campuses is generally warm and sunny, so students can shop, dine, and play outdoors year-round.
CCC offers students comprehensive educational programs designed to meet the staffing needs and skill sets of business, nursing, and other industries. The Las Cruces and El Paso schools aim to assist dis-placed workers in finding new, useful job skills, while training younger workers for entry-level careers. Students are offered academic and vocational counseling through the school. Each academic program offers job-search techniques and grooms students to enter the workforce professionally.
One additional attribute of CCC\'s academic mission is that it aims to be an active presence in the El Paso and Las Cruces communities. CCC demonstrates concern for special-needs students, such as those with learning disabilities; few or no useful work skills; academic drop-outs; and homeless, runaway, foster, and pregnant youths. The skills and training offered through the business school, nursing school, and other program certifications or associates degrees help these students enter the work force prepared to perform well.
